Determination

How often do we hear championed words being used in conversations and not much else? Ethics, moral and inherent rights, copyrights? United Nations charet of Rights of Indigenous Peoples?

All sounds great right? But what does this mean for determination? How often do we download an image without any considerations around what we are taking away?

IndigoPixl addresses this is real time. Our platform asserts the rights of Indigenous artists and creators to enjoy the successes of their works, Cultural identities, story-telling and much more. We create the platform for artists and creators to decide

Other platforms, well… That’s the big E word. Exploitation. Does this seem right? If you drill down into other licensing platforms and understand their payment and fee structures, it doesn’t really leave anything for determination and economic freedom. Actually, it’s cents on the dollar. We are speaking rations such as 2% royalties for Indigenous knowledges, imagery and narratives.

Our model is transparent and a share-benefit model so 50/50 on the royalty distribution. For IndigoPixl this means we can run, maintain, build out the platform and spend time and resources on market share.

Impact

Imagine a place where you can license images that are ethical and authentic. Other images licensing banks remove social and Cultural responsibilities by placing their own responsibility as a third-party supplier meaning they don’t take responsibility for images posted on their sites.

We do take care. Our processes clear artists through vetting via conversations, interviews, networks and community understanding who the artists are and what communities they are from. Buyers can take comfort in knowing that royalties and any further remunerations have impact on artist and their families creating an ecosystem of income and economic cycle within community.

Because we care, they can. Licensing is more than a once off arrangement. We build relationships with buyers and sellers providing the social, Cultural and human value as to why we license through this platform. It is our determination that takes ownership over determination and asserts how markets respond to demand delivering assets and benefit sharing models which becomes a win for all interested parties.

Sure, you can license through another platform. By doing this removes any ideas and social advancements on Cultural and people’s inherent and sovereign rights. By doing this you subscribe to undoing the work of many people driving social changes and autonomy.
